Learn more about our ActualChai mix and how to make authentic masala chai at home!
-
Our Masala Chai Mix is made with loose black tea, cardamom, ground ginger, cloves, fennel, black pepper, and WAY less cinnamon than corporate coffee shop’s “chai tea latte”
-
Bring 1 cup of water and 1 Tbsp of Masalawali Chai Mix to a boil
Add 6-8 oz. of milk
Bring to a boil again
Steep and add your choice of sweetener
Strain
We recommend using 2% milk and monk fruit sweetener. For a vegan/dairy-free, gluten free, and keto friendly version, use 10 oz of water and 4-6 oz of unsweetened coconut milk.

Chai isn't only a delicious drink, but its rich ingredients also have many health benefits:
powerful antioxidants to boost your immune system
aid digestion and prevents digestive issues
boosts energy
improves cognitive function and heart health
soothes stress, anxiety, and promote a sense of well-being
anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties to help fight off infections and viruses
The ingredients in each variety — such as mint, saffron, and pink salt — bring their own added health benefits.

Masalawali Chai serves a rotating selection of hot and cold varieties of freshly brewed chai, including ActualChai (authentic masala chai), The L.A. Special (a vegan, coconut chai), Mint Chai, Kesar Chai (with saffron), Rose Chai, and Kashmiri Chai (a green tea chai with pink salt).
Our non-caffeinated beverage options include Nimbu Pani (a spiced lemonade), Haldi Doodh (turmeric milk), and Rose Milk. As part of our purpose, we feature one of the offerings or an additional partnership offering as “A Cup of Solidarity.” Net proceeds from sales of this item are donated to support a community cause.
To complete the Chai Naasto experience, we offer a mix of sweet & savory snacks to dip, dunk, or devour on the side, each of which brings out the best flavors in your chai (gluten free & vegan options always available).
Lastly, we have jars of ActualChai mix available to make chai at home (with dairy or non-dairy milk).
